I’m back on the wagon and feeling great :) Round 2 of Clean Eating is already off to a great start.
During my week off I was pretty aware of what I was eating. I didn’t go overboard and definitely learned from my deviations. I found that eating processed carbs (pasta and bread) made me feel the worst. I actually remade some of the meals from Round 1 to help me get back on track.
This new meal plan looks delicious! Thumbing through the pages of Clean Eating Magazine I am getting excited for each and every day. Today was no exception. There wasn’t a bad meal in the bunch :) Absolutely yummy and absolutely clean!
2 Barbara’s Shredded Wheat biscuits, 1 cup milk and 1 banana sliced
2 oz deli ham, handful of arugula and 1 tsp Dijon on 1 Ezekiel Sprouted Grain Burger Bun
1 lemon cucumber, peeled and sliced
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup hummus
1 cup cooked brown basmati rice
1 1/2 cups steamed broccoli tossed with a pinch of salt and pepper and olive oil
Highlights: It’s hard to pick one highlight, because the truth is EVERYTHING was a highlight! But what I was the most excited about was the chips. I am not the biggest chip fan, but these babies were A.MAZ.ING! And dipping them in the hummus with fresh tomatoes was heavenly. Surely a snack I will eat over and over again.
Lowlights: No lowlights today. Everything was spectacular!
Having a break from Clean Eating really helped me to realize the difference food has in my life. After only a few days of going back to processed food I felt sluggish, tired and ill. And like I mentioned earlier, I didn’t even over indulge! I made some homemade lasagna at Freddie’s request and both of our bodies have been regretting it every day since. I am looking forward to learning some more Clean Eating ideas during this second round and making a permanent life change.
