Who is In Her Chucks?

A bride, a mom, a music teacher…I never go anywhere without my chucks (otherwise known as Chuck Taylors made by Converse).  Blogging is the next stop in my journey of life.  A recent stay at home mom to raise my newborn daughter, I was looking for a way to reach out and inspire others.  There is so much information to learn as a new mom and wife I felt it appropriate to start a blog in order to share my lessons with others.

I love being a mom.  I always knew I wanted a family.  I have been a babysitter, teacher and caregiver for kids all of my life.  But having my own is the most special gift anyone could ask for.  My husband and I practice attachment parenting and elimination communication with our daughter.  We also participate in parenting groups, swim lessons and music classes.

I love food.  I grew up eating home cooked meals nightly as my mom was always whipping up something delicious in the kitchen.  I didn’t learn how to cook until I married my husband…who also loves food.  So I started experimenting and finding recipes that I could master.  I enjoy making dinner every night and am challenged to create healthy, flavorful meals with a local organic food box that gets delivered to my doorstep weekly.

I love music.  Music has always been a part of my life.  My father is a talented musician, composer and producer.  I grew up singing and playing the piano and guitar.  My husband is a drummer.  My daughter can’t help but be musical.  I taught music to babies, toddlers and preschool children before coming a mommy myself.  After having my daughter I was excited to practice the same activities with her.  With encouragement from my other mommy friends, I now teach weekly classes to moms and babies in my community.

Life is a gift.  I am so grateful for each and every moment.  My goal in writing this blog is to share that joy with you through my posts.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments via email inherchucks@gmail.com.

Thanks for stopping by!

This is cute! I was going to ask, what made you begin this. But now I know. I think I will also tune in. It looks like I will be among the last of my friends to have a family and children. Totally okay with that, because there will be plenty of my friends books to read. All I have to do is turn to a friend and say, can we turn to this chapter, cause uhhhh I am there. I enjoy being the spectator of my friends married and family lives. So I look forward to reading about your journey.

Hmm. I had no idea what ‘Elimination Communication’ was until I clicked through on your link. Strangely enough, my three year old son pooped in the toilet for the first time yesterday and we celebrated like he cured cancer. Kinda ironic.

    • inherchucks says:

I am so glad I was able to enlighten you on “EC”! Pooping on the toilet it a big deal :) and celebrating like he cured cancer sounds absolutely appropriate! Congrats on the huge succeed :)

I really like your blog and how you are creating a community for CSA sharing so I nominated your site for the “Versatile Blogger Award.” Congratulations! If you go to http://versatilebloggeraward.wordpress.com/ or my site (http://bibliopharm.wordpress.com/), you will find the information on the award, how to pass it along and then you can download the badge on your site if you want.

I found you through some comments on other EC blogs… I can really identify with you as I love cooking, music, and being a mom, too. I wish I could do something like your CSA boxes, but I live in Germany, and as far as I know, we don’t have anything like that. (but we DO have tons of local farmers markets and organic food, which is basically considered normal here, instead of somthing hippy-ish. )

I think I will definatly follow you!

  14. I just nominated you for a Sunshine Award because I am really enjoying your blog! Visit my site tomorrow (6/26) and you can see…keep up the fun work!

  15. Hello! I just posted my first little bit on your food/CSA page…for some reason, just my first name (as opposed to the title of the post or my blog) came up under the pic and it just looks so lonely and kind of silly there. Any way to change it to a title? I didn’t want to futz and mess anything up! I love all the postings! Happy to join in, thanks for the invite :)

    • inherchucks says:

Thanks for linking up! Don’t worry about the title…although next time when it asks for your name it is asking for the name that you want displayed under your image. But there are no rules :) I appreciate you participating and look forward to having you again!

  16. I think chucks are cute! In middle school, they’re *all* that I’d wear, they were THE coolest thing. Did you really wear them to your wedding?

  17. Congratulations – you won my giveaway! Anne Simpson will send you a copy of her e-book, Your Grocery Budget Toolbox. Send me your email address through the contact form on my blog and I will get it to Anne so she can send you the book. Enjoy!

  18. :) Send me an email at Christa.Beery@gmail.com and I will send you the HTML for you to have a button that people can add to their posts. You can send me the URL to the image you want, if you have that made already – at the moment I just have your ‘What’s in the Box’ image as the image.

  19. I really enjoy reading your blog and I nominated you for the Super Sweet Blogging Award. You can read more about the award, the rules, and how to pass the award along to other bloggers (if you choose to) by going here: http://tinyurl.com/98s43hg My father is a musician/artist as well. I play piano, violin, flute, and love to sing. I’m anxious to learn more about you through your posts (which I recently subscribed to). I love everything so far. I’ve recently switched my food blog over to be self-hosted which I hope will make it more user-friendly in the future. As a result, if you were following Can’t Stay Out of the Kitchen via email, WordPress, or using RSS feeds through Google Reader or some other way, you are no longer subscribed. If you wish to continue receiving future posts from my blog you will need to re-subscribe. Sorry for the inconvenience, Teresa.
