Remembering Dr. King

Today, as we inaugurate our 44th President, Barack Obama, for his second term, we also remember the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.  Today, the dream that was shared 50 years ago on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial has come full circle.  A dream to unify people of all colors.  A dream to live, love and appreciate each other as brothers and sisters.  A dream to look past the exterior and see people for who they really are.

The celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is one of my favorite holidays as it recognizes a man who wasn’t afraid to fight for what he believed in.  He was a gentle leader who made a strong impact on our nation’s history.  Below is an incredible timeline created by Allison Morris highlighting MLK’s milestones and achievements.  I hope it inspires you as much as it inspired me.
